Minimalist Bohemian Interior Design Inspiration

minimalist bohemian inspiration

Spring 2019 is all about vintage, the 1970s mixed with modern seems to be a focus. Woven baskets, macrame, tapestries, hanging planters, and shaggy rugs. I’m not a huge fan of the 70s, but if you do it right with a modern twist it can be quite beautiful. Some other elements that are big this season, terrazzo, all the plants to create a home jungle, concrete, matte finishes, warm brushed metallics, velvet everything and unique large scale art.

I’m a big fan of large scale artwork, it makes a space feel cleaner and creates a huge statement in a room, but it can get expensive. Society6 is a great place to shop for art, just wait for a sale (they happen often) and you’ll get some amazing deals on art created by independent artists. Hot tip! Order one of their very large fabric tapestries and get it mounted to a wood canvas frame at your local art supply shop. I did this for my own home, such an affordable way to get large scale “canvas” art. It was so necessary to have something large in our space with very tall ceilings. Check out a photo of the tapestry our loft apartment:

Below I’ve pulled together what I feel is modern style with vintage influence. Sure it’s not totally 70s, there’s a mix of various eras, but you get the vibe I’m going for right? I’m loving soft pink, warm tones and textures of terrazzo mixed with lots of white and a large collection of plants.
