A gift I made for my friends birthday.
Recipe:
1 large glass jar
1 1/3 cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups oatmeal
3/4 cup light blue m&ms
3/4 cup dark blue m&ms
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup white sugar
3/4 – 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
(the amount of nuts and m&m’s may vary depending on the size of your jar)
Keep in mind the amounts of ingredients may vary depending on the size of your jar.
You can also make seasonal gifts depending on the colours of your m&ms. This would be fun for halloween with orange and brown. Or for a baby shower you could do pale yellow or pink or the blue i’ve used. I will be doing this again for other friends, so you may just be the lucky one!
Layers:
1. Flour/baking soda/baking powder/salt all mixed together
2. Oatmeal
3. m&ms
4. Brown Sugar
5. White Sugar
6. Nuts
Lastly, include a note that says mix ingredients with 1 egg, 1/2 cup butter and 1-2 teaspoons vanilla
This is such a cute idea!!
Can you tell me what the recipe is?
Also where did you find the cute little scoop?
Cook at what temp and for how long???
just follow any basic cookie recipe. 350 degrees for about 10-15 minutes should do it.
Love these! What size jar did you use?
good question. I don’t actually remember what size the jar was, it was the largest one I could find, then I basically adjusted more oats and nuts to fill the space at the top if it didn’t fill it all the way.
Wonderful idea!
How many people does the recipe serve?
I just made these because I was CRAVING some kind of baked goods, and I thought I’d mention a couple things: A) The dough was SUPER crumbly and dry, so I added about 3/4ish cup of peanut butter since that sounded good. They still baked out really crumbly, so next time I make them I’ll probably add more butter and maybe an extra egg. B) Once I got the peanut butter incorporated, I formed the dough into balls, about golf ball size, and baked them at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Turned out great!
