If you know me, you know that I love to change the decor in our loft apartment often. This doesn’t always mean buying new, usually just means moving items around that we already have. I’ve changed the art in this reading corner several times by taking pieces from other areas in our home and swapping them out. This time I had the chance to collaborate with online art retailer Niche Canvas. They kindly gifted a canvas of my choice to update my space.
I’ve had this black and white piece that I painted myself in this corner for a while. It felt kind of gloomy especially since we’re staying home more often because of COVID. It was obvious I needed some colour to lift my spirits.
So I browsed the Niche Canvas website and immediately decided I didn’t want a photo, it needed to be abstract, modern with a touch of vintage. That’s when I found this piece from one of their featured artists.

I’m in love with the soft muted colours and organic shapes. It’s just enough colour without being too intense.
I really love this company because the art shipped so fast. I think they may have a partnership with local printers to do orders because I got mine in 1 day! Although I’m sure it’s different depending on your location.
The art itself is framed so nicely. A black wood frame and the wood stretcher bars for the canvas itself are super solid. I’ve purchased art from other companies in the past, they warp because the frames are too thin. I can tell it won’t warp. I also love that they come with hanging hardware already on it, so it was up on my wall the same day.
